The beginning is entirely tangible: modelling clay, fingers and a form that gradually finds its character. We sculpt by hand, leaving room for soft curves and small departures from symmetry. This is how a future piece of jewellery begins, before it even has a colour.
We build a paper barrier around the model and make a silicone mould. Once it has cured, we remove the modelling clay, clean and refine the shape. Each of these quiet preparatory stages matters to the next.
Transparency and colour are the result of years of experimentation. We cast carefully, paying attention to timing and working conditions. Even when we use the same mould, the handmade process leaves its own nuances. This album includes the worktables, the materials and the people behind them.
